|The Grotto - Cypress Lake National Park, Bruce Peninsula, Ontario, Canada|
Unfortunately, as I mentioned in a previous post, 2 brothers died tragically here just the day before these photos were taken. The water was rough and one can imagine that they got tossed against the rock or swept under by the big waves that morning. The trails and this rocky beach area were all closed off while investigators attended the scene and recorded the conditions. I don't know what exactly happened, but the story I heard was that one of the brothers went into the water, got into trouble and the 2nd brother then went in to save his brother, but also drowned, while a 3rd young man and friend jumped in to save them both and he too almost died. He survived, barely. We saw him come out on a stretcher and he was not looking too good. Very sad.
But this day was calm and people carried on, enjoying the landscape and cool refreshing, crystal clear waters of Lake Huron.

|This picture gives you an idea of why I keep using the term "crystal clear waters" when referring to this area. Its just breathtaking.|
This walk in to the Grotto is very easy. There were people with walking canes on the trail and you could drive a scooter in part way if you wanted to. We sat on the rocks watching the swimmer, cliff jumpers, snorkelers, divers and just the usual people watching. My husband went on "photo safari" for about an hour.
The water was beautiful, clear, clean and cool. Dogs were having a blast fetching sticks and rocks in the water. All in all, a really nice relaxing, interesting day. Another day in paradise.
